Ryndala AZIZI

After earning a bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations in Lebanon in 2022, I initially forged an understanding of the complex geopolitical dynamics of the Middle East. Passionate about these issues, I chose to confront them with the reality of organizations by integrating my Bachelor’s in my thesis project with my master’s degree in Human Resources and Internal Organizational Communication, obtained from Sorbonne Paris Nord University in 2024. My professional experience—particularly within a multinational construction and civil engineering firm—revealed a striking reality: geopolitical crises spill over into office corridors, corporate social networks, and the minds of employees. As a Lebanese living in France, I have witnessed this shift becoming increasingly apparent.

Consequently, my thesis is the culmination of a research journey and fieldwork experience situated at the intersection of these two worlds. This context gave rise to my research topic: « The Geo-Communicational Responsibility of Organizations: The Case of Lebanon. »

This thesis adopts a critical research perspective on organizational communication. Its aim is to analyze the geo-communicational responsibility of companies amidst the current proliferation of armed conflicts, specifically the war in Lebanon. To what extent does this conflict disrupt how companies communicate in the public sphere? What new stances are organizations adopting regarding internal and external communication strategies or human resources policies? This project falls under LabSIC’s theme 4 and is being conducted under the supervision of Yanita Andonova.
