Inès Oudadesse is a PhD student at LabSIC, under the supervision of Abdetfettah Benchenna.
Her thesis focuses on the international circulation of Arab rap music, with a specific emphasis on the cases of the Moroccan and Egyptian scenes.

Indeed, the musical genre of rap is experiencing a significant rise in the music industry of the Middle East and North Africa region, and is becoming increasingly successful even beyond its borders. The aim of this thesis topic is to examine the export of Arab rap music, through the prism of the economic stakes, cultural diplomacy and audience expectations at play in the dynamics of this industry.
