Christine Chevret is an associate professor in Information and Communication Sciences at Université Sorbonne Paris Nord. The title of her PhD dissertation was: “Citizenship, civism, civility: in defense of a grammar-based approach to the justifications surrounding the drafting of IT law in France.” Since completing her PhD, her research has followed a communications-based approach to IT law.

Before preparing her PhD in Information and Communication Sciences, and after pursuing studies in a variety of fields (political science, law, and philosophy), Christine Chevret’s worked as an expert for two international organizations (Council of Europe, UNESCO).

Since joining LabSIC in September 2011, her research has led her to focus on the regulation of tech in France and Europe (discourses of public authorities and political resistance). Her research also examines the industrialization of creation (photography and visual arts), as well as the treatment of crises (economic, social and societal) by the written press in connection with the public sphere.
